What We Believe
At the heart of our church is the good news of Jesus Christ. We believe that God has made Himself known to us through His Word, the Bible, and that the whole story of Scripture points us to His grace, His faithfulness, and His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
As a Canadian Reformed church, we are part of a worldwide Christian tradition that traces its roots to the Protestant Reformation. We seek to faithfully follow Jesus Christ, to grow together in faith, and to live out God's Word in every part of our lives.
We Believe in the Triune God
We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created us, sustains us, and calls us to know and love Him. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world to save sinners. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He has accomplished our salvation and the forgiveness of our sins. Through the Holy Spirit, God works in our hearts, bringing us to repentance and creating faith in us.
We Believe the Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. Through Scripture, God has revealed who He is, what He has done for us, and how He calls us to live. We look to God's Word as the foundation and final authority for our faith and our lives.
We Believe the Church Is a Community
We believe Jesus Christ is the Head of His church, and that following Him is not something we are meant to do alone. God gathers His people into the church, where we worship together, encourage one another, learn from His Word, care for one another, and serve our neighbours and our communities.
We Believe God Calls Us to Live by Faith
God's grace changes the way we live. We seek to respond to His love with lives of gratitude, obedience, and service. This means growing in our relationship with Christ, caring for others, sharing the good news, and seeking to honour God in our homes, our work, and our communities.
Our Reformed Heritage
Our church is part of the Canadian Reformed Churches and embraces the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed, together with the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and Canons of Dort. These confessions help us understand and express our faith, while the Bible remains the foundation and final authority for what we believe.
